Performing & Live Sound
I play in three bands regularly, I've also made one-off appearances in innumerable performances, playing guitar, bass, or contributing live electronics.
The Listening Room
Since 2019 I have been running sound at regular sessions for Bristol's St George's concert hall, in the Glass Studio extension, for 'The listening Room' series.
Iceman Furniss Quartet
We are an improvising group with cornet, drums, bass guitar, and my contribution of guitar and effects processing.
We have played more than 40 shows, almost all of which I have recorded and are available on the band's Soundcloud page. Iceman were recently the subject of a short documentary.
Domestic Sound Cupboard
A monthly session featuring experimental music, established in 2014. It's usually a three artist bill starting with a 30 minute improvisation by the house band, in which I play a range of instruments including analog monosynth, bass, and guitar, in a changing instrumental lineup that combines traditional instruments with electronic processing and sequencing, and improvised vocals.
Performances can be heard on Our Mix Cloud.
